AURRANESTCrafting Space with Purpose

The studio

Two disciplines, one idea about space

Aurranest advises on the spaces you live and work in, and makes and sources objects for the home to go into them. Both halves answer to the same principle: understand the space first, then add very little.

Crafting space with purpose

Aurranest began with a practical frustration. Clients asking for a Vastu reading were handed a list of findings and left to source the remedies themselves, usually badly. Clients buying beautiful objects were placing them where the object worked against the room.

So the studio does both. We read a property and tell you what is worth changing. We design interiors around what we find. And we sell a small, carefully chosen collection of pieces (carved stone, original canvases, studio ceramics, devotional objects) with the placement guidance that should have come with them in the first place.

We work from Dubai, online, under an e-trading licence. Most consultation happens across the Emirates; plans and readings travel further.

How we work

Four commitments

  • 01

We start with the building, not the brief

Orientation, light and proportion are fixed before anyone chooses a colour. Understanding them first means the brief is answered rather than merely decorated.

  • 02

    We would rather recommend less

A shorter list of changes, properly justified, beats a long one designed to look thorough. If a correction is not worth making, we say so.

  • 03

    Objects are chosen, not stocked

We buy in small numbers from makers we have met. When a piece sells out it usually stays sold out, and we are comfortable with that.

  • 04

The two halves inform each other

Consulting on hundreds of rooms teaches you which objects actually work in them. Selling objects keeps the consultancy honest about cost and availability.

The mark holds the two halves of the studio together: the arch of a built structure, and the leaf that says a space is meant to be lived in rather than looked at.
